Discover which feeders and transformers will overload from DERs in 2025 and beyond
Simulate DER impacts across your grid with daily refreshed, AI-backed analysis of meter, GIS, and DER data.

With Camus, AES uncovered $7.3 million in savings from grid-optimized EV charging
In just 12 weeks, Camus deployed its AI-backed data platform, using AMI and GIS data to simulate the grid impacts of EV adoption impacts and identify upgrade deferrals.

Learn more about Camus
Protecting reliability and affordability are paramount. New reliability challenges like transformer overloading and local backfeed are occurring on the distribution grid – and warning bells come in the form of outages or power quality issues. Waiting for these warning bells is waiting too long. By proactively preparing for DER impacts, utilities can better manage reliability and affordability.
Camus provides a flexible software platform to analyze DER impacts on your grid, starting with two years of historical AMI data, a snapshot of current GIS information, and any available DER interconnection records. We then set up automated refresh of AMI, GIS, and DER data through secure data pipelines, ensuring your analyses are always up to date.
You’ll gain access to a limited version of Camus’ grid orchestration software platform, which you can access any time (for up to 3 months) and export data for use in other tools. A virtual training session is provided for unlimited team members.
Also included is a 2-hour workshop to review DER impacts with Camus experts.
The price of this offer is a one-time fee of $175,000. After 3 months of access, you may renew for an annual fee. We will collaborate with you and your team to quantify the potential equipment upgrade deferral savings from grid-aware management of DERs.
If the potential savings over the 10-year planning horizon sums to less than $1 million, you're eligible for a refund of the full price. These potential savings are reviewed during the 2-hour workshop to review DER impacts.
After securely receiving and validating AMI, GIS, and (if available) DER interconnection data, our platform will be made available to your team within 12 weeks. This includes time for troubleshooting of data ingestion, clarification of data fields, and onboarding training for your team. After the launch of the platform, we'll schedule a 2-hour review of DER impacts.
The platform and data will remain available to your team for 3 months, including the ability to export aggregated data (e.g. AMI loading at each transformer, EV adoption forecasts, etc.).
5-15 hours. The primary method of support required from your team is the preparation of AMI, GIS, and DER data – along with support clarifying data fields during ingestion into our platform. We have experience working with numerous MDMS and GIS systems, so we handle all the tricky the details on our end. Other time commitments include the virtual onboarding for users and a 2-hour workshop to review DER impacts.
